COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

News Leader 9 is following a house fire that happened Monday afternoon on the corner of Apex Road and River Road.

A dog was saved from the burning home, but no one else was inside at the time of the fire. It took firefighters around 15 minutes to contain the blaze.

Firefighters have not revealed at this time a cause of the fire. Neighbors told News Leader 9 that someone was burning trash in the yard and it got out of control.

It's not known at this time how much damage the home sustained.
