LSU to win in a sleeper, Saints and Jags each face tough challenges

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

9 Picks was a victory away from perfection last week: "thanks Saints for losing to the Chiefs." Several good match-ups this week and a couple of Upset Alerts as well.

We start with a Thursday night Upset Special:

#3 Stanford (3-0) at Washington (2-1)

Upset Alert: Stanford will rely on a rushing attack that is averaging 147 yards this season. Last year the Cardinal ran for 446 yards against the Huskies and will look to do the same this year. But, Washington has quarterback Keith Price and he will be the difference:

Washington: 24       Stanford: 17

Southern (1-2) vs. Florida A&M (2-2) Atlanta, GA

The Jaguars travel to Atlanta to face the Rattlers in the Bank of America Football Classic. Southern won its first game of the season against Jackson State under coach Dawson Odums. But this weekend the Jags face a hot quarterback in Damien Fleming. Fleming completed 30 of 37 passes and threw for three touchdowns last week. Jaguars fall short this week:

FAMU: 44     Southern: 26

Towson (2-1) at #LSU (4-0)

Well let's see, the game will be tied for at least 30 seconds. LSU uses this scrimmage as a chance to rest and start preparing for Florida. Les Miles may have to take a knee on the five yard line throughout the fourth quarter:

LSU: 56      Towson: 3

New Orleans Saints (0-3) at Green Bay Packers (1-2)

Wow, thanks NFL for the timing of this match-up! The Packers angry over losing to the Seahawks on a controversial call will host the winless Saints this Sunday. The Saints defense has been terrible at best and that won't change against Aaron Rogers and company:

Green Bay: 41      New Orleans: 30

Tennessee (3-1) at #5 Georgia (4-0)

Upset Alert: Tyler Bray and the Vols lead the SEC in passing at 347 yards a game and will test Georgia's secondary from start to finish. In an offensive shootout, the Vols win a shocker "Between the Hedges":

Tennessee: 35      Georgia: 31

Arkansas (1-3) at Texas A&M (2-1)

Arkansas comes into the contest struggling after losses to UL-Monroe and Rutgers. Texas A&M has lost to the Hogs the last three years. That streak ends and A&M wins their first SEC game:

Texas A&M: 28      Arkansas: 17

Ole Miss (3-1) at #1 Alabama (4-0)

The young Rebels bring their faced-paced, no huddle offense to Tuscaloosa to face #1 Alabama. The Rebels are averaging 37 points a game, but that average will fall as the Tide dominates, again:

Alabama: 38      Ole Miss: 13

#14 Ohio State (4-0) at #20 Michigan State (3-1)

Urban Meyer and Braxton Miller travel to East Lansing to face Mark Dantonio and Le'Veon Bell. Michigan State looks to run on offense and keep Miller running for his life on defense. Meyer gets first Big 10 loss:

Michigan State: 17      Ohio State 14

#25 Baylor (3-0) at #9 West Virginia (3-0)

It's a Big 12 showdown. West Virginia is ready to make a statement and the Mountaineers will:

West Virginia: 38      Baylor: 23

LAST WEEK: 8-1 ... SEASON TOTAL: 12-4
