The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld two life convictions a Muscogee County Court handed down to a man accused of killing his pregnant wife.

Zyderrious Platt was arrested in 2009 on an unrelated weapons charge while police were investigating Jilani Platt's disappearance.

Reports show the two were arguing shortly before she vanished from their home on Crystal Court. Police say Platt shot his wife Jilani in the head and dumped her body in a retention pond.

Platt had originally maintained the whole thing was an accident.
