Tuskegee and Morehouse set for 77th Classic this weekend

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two sets of "Tigers" are ready to hit the field this weekend. The Tuskegee Golden Tigers and Morehouse Maroon Tigers will take their rivalry to the gridiron at the 77th Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic at McClung Memorial Stadium.

The "Grand Daddy" off all classices is set to kickoff at 2 p.m. ET Saturday.

The first Tuskegee-Morehouse Football Classic was played in Columbus in 1936. However, officials say this year marks the 103rd meeting between the football teams.

Officials add the planning committee is staffed entirely of volunteers. The primary purpose of the Tuskegee-Morehouse Football Classic is to help raise funds for scholarships for younge women and men.
