OVERTON, TX (KLTV) -

Management at Overton Healthcare Center tells us there has been a roof collapse in their building today.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the collapse, which occurred over the centralized nurses station at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. Manager Phil said, "it was like the hub came out of the wheel," and also noted how efficiently the staff worked together to keep everyone safe during the incident.

"We are very proud of our crew. They did an exceptional job and got right to work," Manager Phil said.

Mary Rayls, director at the Overton Healthcare Center, said at this time they do not know exactly what caused the roof to cave in, but they suspect simply age and gravity.

"We don't' know why the roof collapsed but we have two work crews here, that are working on the solution and the investigation. We have also brought in additional staff, so we feel that the residents are safe," Rayls said.

Crews are currently working on repairs; the residents of the care center didn't even have to miss lunch as a result of the cooperation of the staff and everyone involved.

The facility will stay open during the renovation. The staff said that if there are problems they will move the residents to their sister facility.
