    It's not every day a baby is born weighing more than a sack of potatoes, or even your average sized watermelon. But for one Columbus family it's been a year since their little – or shall we say big – bundle of joy arrived.

Many kids in our area participate in sporting activities after school such as baseball, football or soccer, but those high-impact activities may be putting your child at risk for traumatic brain injury.

A traumatic brain injury can change a person's brain function temporarily or even permanently.  

According to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, about 10% of athletes experience a concussion each season and the likelihood that they will experience another concussion increases each time they are on the field.
