WTVM.com makes changes to commenting system

Posted: Updated:
(WTVM) -

We at WTVM have decided, in an effort to keep our comment threads more professional and on point, to move to a system that only allows for those who have a Facebook account to comment on WTVM.com.

Over the years, we have seen an increase in racist remarks, personal attacks, and comments that otherwise violate our terms of use.

We hope that our new commenting method will allow those who have legitimate thoughts to engage in healthy dialogue about the content of the stories we share with you.

If you wish to create a Facebook account to be able to comment on WTVM.com, it's easy and you can get started here: http://www.facebook.com. While you're at it, be sure to "like" WTVM on Facebook. You can do so by clicking here: http://www.facebook.com/wtvmnewsleader9. We offer several items daily that you cannot get anywhere else!

For those who have not seen our Terms of Use, they read as follows:

We welcome your participation in our community. Please keep your comments civil and on point. Notify us of any inappropriate comments by clicking the "X" in the top right side of the comment in question. You must be at least 13 years of age to post comments. We may review your submissions and remove any content without notice, without explanation, and for any reason in our sole discretion, including if it violates these rules, other parts of the Terms of Use, or is otherwise objectionable. You may also be banned from commenting on this site without notice and without explanation, and for any reason in our sole discretion, including if it violates these rules, other parts of the Terms of Use, or is otherwise objectionable.
