New ad: Elevator riders think they’re falling to their death

(RNN) - Electronics manufacturer LG wanted to show customers just how realistic their new screens are. And what better way to do this than to scare the living daylights out of them – by making it look like the elevator floor was falling out from below their feet and possibly falling to their death.
In the new ad campaign "So Real It's Scary," LG installed their monitors in a grid on the floor of an elevator.
When people enter the elevator, the lights go off and flicker unexpectedly while worrying screeching sounds go off.
The optical illusion then makes it look as if the floor panels are falling, giving the riders a terrifying view of the fake elevator shaft below them.
The victims of this practical joke jump side to side and hold onto the railing for dear life.
But is this ad real or fake? After more than 600,000 views on YouTube, the authenticity has been much debated in their comment section.
According to the Daily Mail, LG did not respond to questions whether the passengers were real office workers or actors.
LG advertises its IPS monitor as having life-like color and wide angle viewing.
