PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - A murder suspect wanted by Columbus Police for a year was finally arrested in Phenix City.
Jody Perry was wanted in connection to the 2011 murder of a preacher who was found under the Oglethorpe Bridge.
Perry was captured at about 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rhodeway Inn on the 280 bypass by members of the Columbus Police Department Fugitive Squad, Phenix City Police and United States Marshalls from both the Columbus and the East Alabama offices.
Two people, including Perry's mother, have been arrested for renting him cars.
Perry has been extradited back to Georgia. He will also be charged with trafficking cocaine in Phenix City.
