Fraternity brothers shave heads for breast cancer awareness

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Members of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Armstrong Atlantic State University are raising awareness for breast cancer and money for the Komen Foundation. It all started last week when they dyed their hair pink. Once they reach their goal, they shave their head. Members say the event raises awareness around campus.

"My hair was pink, then it faded and became blonde. Everyone asked me why my hair was blonde and you know there was still a story behind that even though it was not pink anymore," said Nick Sanders, shaved head for Komen.

Sanders says he raised $25 himself. The fraternity hopes to raise $1,000 for Komen.
