A Phenix City woman is among three people arrested Friday during a Louisiana traffic stop that yielded the discovery of $140,000 worth of cocaine.

The traffic stop was initiated by Louisiana State Troopers during mid-morning traffic on Interstate 10. During that stop, authorities found 7 kilos of cocaine.

Troopers said they were prompted to make the traffic stop after observing a traffic violation committed by two vehicles traveling together in the eastbound lanes of I-10.

Troopers made contact with the vehicles, a 2003 Honda Accord driven by 42 year old Belinda Ware of Phenix City, AL and a 2004 Ford pickup driven by 41 year old Anthony Kimbrough of Columbus, GA.

The two drivers gave officers consent to search their vehicles, and were arrested after the discoveries.

Both drivers and an additional passenger in the Ford pickup, 51 year old Christopher Cherry of Columbus, GA, were placed under arrest and subsequently booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.
