TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Despite just being days away from the very important match up against LSU, Crimson Tide Head Coach Nick Saban stepped back to mention some non-football events.

Saban started Wednesday's meeting with media by thanking everyone who had emailed and called to wish him a happy birthday. The coach turned 61-years-old today.

Saban also took a moment to wish departing University of Alabama President Guy Bailey and his wife all the best. Bailey announced his intention to step down Wednesday due to his wife's health.

"We were excited about having President Baily here with us. We wish him and his family the very best and wish them God's blessings," Saban said.
