COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Wingstop has landed in Columbus, Ga.
The 520-unit wing concept has opened its newest restaurant at 2528 Weems Road at the intersection of Whittlesey Blvd. in North Columbus.
The new opening is thanks to local business owner Ed Miller and his wife Marie, who also own four Bruster's Real Ice Cream locations in Columbus, and believe wing and sports fans will embrace the cooked-to-order wings and flavors at Wingstop.
"We're excited to introduce the Columbus community to Wingstop," said Ed Miller. "There really aren't any other wing restaurants in the area that just cater to serving the best, fresh, made-to-order wings. We can't wait for guests to try us out and see why we're the wing experts."
The Wingstop menu features traditional and boneless wings, chicken strips and Glider sandwiches – all sauced and tossed in 10 original flavors. Homemade side dishes include fresh cut seasoned fries, made daily from Idaho potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, veggie sticks and house made ranch and bleu cheese dips.
Miller, an active member of the community, is planning a grand opening event for late November, which will include a sampling event and ribbon cutting with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.
"We're already gearing up for our grand opening," added Miller. "Once you try Wingstop, you crave it, so we're inviting guests to join us on Black Friday, take a break from holiday shopping and get five free boneless or classic wings, all day."
Wingstop will host a grand opening event Friday, Nov. 23 where the first 500 guests will receive five free boneless or classic wings.
