COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

If your child has more Halloween candy than they know what to do with, here's an idea that could keep their mouths cavity-free, while helping the troops!

Columbus Kool Smiles is taking part in "Operation Troop Treats," offering toys in exchange for Halloween candy.

The candy is then sent in care packages to US soldiers serving overseas.

Dentists say it's a win-win because kids have an incentive to give back to help the troops.
