On paper it would suggest that LSU should not show up for Saturday's game against Alabama. The Tide is an overwhelming pick to win the game and it has also been suggested that Texas A&M is a bigger challenge to Bama than LSU. And who would have known the Presidential race is riding on the winner of this game. Here's a taste of "What They are Saying":
"I'll say it right now, I think A&M is more of a threat to Alabama than LSU is," Kirk Herbstreit said. "You heard it. I think A&M is more of a threat next week to Alabama than LSU is. Even though it's Tuscaloosa and the reason I say that is because of Johnny Manziel and the style of offense they run."
Once again the game will come down to quarterback play. Can LSU pressure McCarron and hit him early and often and can Mettenberger handle Alabama's pressure?
It's not the Game of the Century, but it's the Game of Survival. Do the math. Another loss and LSU is toast in the SEC West and in the national title picture.
The difference in quarterback and on the offensive lines will be the difference as the Crimson Tide takes a huge step towards a shot at second straight national crown.
