Columbus – The Lady Cougars have earned the No. 2 seed in the Southeast Region of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament announced by the NCAA Monday night.  In total, 48 teams made the field including 20 automatic qualifiers.

Columbus State will have a first round bye and take on the winner of third-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne and No. 6 seed Belmont Abbey on Sunday, November 11 with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.  L-R and Belmont Abbey will square off on Friday, November 9 with that match slated to start at 5:00 p.m.

CSU has received a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season as they currently boast a 17-3-1 record.  The Lady Cougars finished in a tie for second in the Peach Belt Conference during the regular season and fell this past Sunday to No. 1 and top-seeded Armstrong in the PBC Tournament final.

Earlier in the season, Columbus State defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 2-1 and Belmont Abbey 2-0.

In the other half of the region, Armstrong receives the first round bye as the No. 1 seed and will play the winner of No. 4 North Georgia and No. 5 Wingate.  The NGA/Wingate contest kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on November 9 at the Armstrong Soccer Field while the second round match will also begin at 1:00 p.m. on November 11.
