COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus police have arrested a man who was caught with thousands of dollars in stolen copper wire.

A tip led Columbus police to Whisper Drive where a U-Haul trailer packed with thousands of pounds of stolen copper wire was found.

They arrested 22-year-old Thaddus Walker on the charge of bringing stolen property into the state.

Police say it's part of the $71,000 worth of copper wire that was stolen from a Jacksonville warehouse.
