DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

With just more than a month before the new city of Brookhaven comes online in northern DeKalb County, residents still do not know who their mayor will be, nor who will occupy three of the four city council seats.

The registrar's office in DeKalb County said the results from Tuesday night's election led only to one winner in the five races.

Jim Eyre, who was competing against two other candidates for city council in District Two, won his race with 54 percent of the vote. 

"I am glad I don't have to do a runoff," said Eyre. "I don't relish the thought of another 30 days of campaigning. I relish the thought of getting to work on growing the city."

The race for mayor did not see any candidate come out with more than 50 percent of the vote, and the same held true for city council districts 1, 3 and 4.

J. Max Davis and Sandy Murray will compete in a runoff for mayor on Dec. 4. 

The runoff in District 1 will feature Rebecca Williams and Kevin Fitzpatrick, the top two vote getters among five candidates. 

District 3 saw Bates Mattison and Kevin Quirk emerge from a crowded field of 10 candidates. 

And in District 4, Joe Gebbia and Kevin Lord both came closest to 50 percent of the vote in their field of three candidates.

The city officially comes online Dec. 17, just 13 days following the runoff elections.
