AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - The League of Women Voters of East Alabama will host a public discussion Monday, Nov. 12, on state election laws.
Clifton Perry, Hudson Professor in the Department of Political Science in Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts, will discuss state laws that have the effect of limiting voter participation and court decisions regarding challenges to these laws. Perry is trained in the law and is an expert on constitutional issues.
The discussion will take place at the local League's General Membership Meeting at the Auburn First Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, with a meet and greet at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 7 p.m.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
