It was no surprise when fairly early in the night, television networks projected Louisiana's eight electoral votes would go to Republican Mitt Romney; but of course, not everyone voted for the challenger.
Romney did carry Louisiana with 58 percent of the popular vote. Since it is generally uncouth to ask your friends and neighbors who they voted for, we thought this information might pique your interest.
Ten of the 12 Louisiana parishes had the majority of voters checking the box for the Romney-Ryan ticket. Two parishes, East Baton Rouge and Iberville, had President Obama as the winner. The numbers get interesting if you look closer.
EBR voters were split, with 52 percent, or more than 102,000 voting for the President. Iberville leaned a little farther left with 56 percent, about 9,500 voters choosing Obama.
