SNELLVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

A Snellville horse farm known for helping hundreds of disabled children could soon be shut down.

Parkwood Farms Therapeutic Riding Center is facing foreclosure, but the community is trying to keep it from happening.

The Sheriff's Department showed up last week to evict the owner but didn't because of all the animals and equipment. The horses have since been moved out but the owner said the fight is far from over and Monday she learned she's not fighting it alone.

Along side the entire Snellville City Council, volunteers and parents gathered to tell their stories and provide support.

The owner, Marilyn Peterson, admits she has been in the foreclosure battle for years, but said she hasn't done anything wrong. She said it's the other way around.

"They were the ones to break laws in trying to take property away wrongfully," said Peterson.

And she's not the only one to think that.

Kelvin Watson is an advocate against foreclosures. He looked at Peterson's case and found a lot of red flags.

"I was like 'oh my God. Check mark, check mark, check mark.' It's The same situation over and over again. So no doubt in my mind she's definitely got something," Watson said.

But while lawyers battle it out in court, parents and volunteers fear the worst. They're afraid of losing the farm that has done so much for their kids.

Renn McClintic-Doyle has an autistic child that rides at the farm.

"Through the therapy program Chris has done a 360 turn around," said McClintic-Doyle.

"It has brought her so much self confidence. This place has just been a blessing in our lives. It's a huge part of our lives," said another parent.

Its stories like those that keep the owner motivated.

"I've been fighting it for two years and I'll fight it to the very end," said Peterson.

We tried to contact the bank that's pushing for this foreclosure but we never heard back.

Meanwhile supporters said they will continue trying to stop this in court before the sheriff's department comes back.
