MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Phones are ringing off the hook at area hotels, in search of any available rooms for Thanksgiving.

"There's a slim chance, as you can see, they are booking up right now too so it's going to be very, very hard," Hampton Inn & Suites Guest Relations Manager Derek Moore said.

Moore says that hotel property in Eastchase and their nearby sister property Staybridge Suites are already sold out for the 21st and 22nd.

Renaissance Downtown General Manager Mike Eveleth says Thanksgiving day has been booked for nearly two months.

"There is a lot of activity on the phones. I mean a lot of activity. We are completely sold out for Wednesday. We are full and Thursday, we are very, very close to full," Eveleth said.

He says you might find a room at their sister Marriott property in Prattville.

Hotel managers say this Thanksgiving holiday is no where in comparison to last year's traffic. They say ASU's new stadium debut is drawing thousands who are booking early.

"No, absolutely not this kind of volume and you can tell there's a lot of people and they really want to see the stadium for the first time and be there for the first game," Eveleth said.

"We're looking forward to all of the guests coming in to enjoy the Montgomery scenery and the Turkey Day Classic as well," Moore said.

Hotel managers suggest checking online for third party reservations such as www.expedia.com or www.roomkey.com  to find any available rooms.

If those options don't work, hotel officials say as the holiday gets closer you can call to see if there have been any cancellations.
