AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

News Leader 9 is following a two-car accident where one driver had to be airlifted to a hospital for injuries.

Auburn police Chief Tommy Dawson says two cars struck head-on at the intersection of Wire Road and Webster Road in Auburn late Wednesday morning.

The driver flown to a Columbus hospital with injuries has been identified as 20-year-old McKensie Alred. Police say her injuries do not appear to life threatening.

The other driver has been identified as 21-year-old Bradley Herzig. Police say both drivers are Auburn University students. A small dog riding in Alred's lap died in the accident.
