Tyree Burtin, 36,  is in trouble with local law enforcement. Now on the run, officials with the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department say he's completely ditched his probation obligation which has landed him in even more trouble.

"He's pretty much left probation. He just walked away from it," says Muscogee County Sheriff Deputy, Jeffrey Hackey.

Burtin was originally charged with theft by receiving stolen property and now adds probation violation to the list. Deputy Hackey says Burtin may have left the state, but adds it's only a matter of time before he's caught.

"If he's smart, I would think that he has left town, but that's still not going to keep us from finding him," says Hackey. "Eventually he's going to have some kind of contact with law enforcement and they are going to run his name, his license and find out that he's wanted by us. It's just a matter of when we're going to get him or not."

Burtin is 5'9" tall and weighs 165 pounds. He's not considered dangerous but because he's on the run police would not recommend you approach him. By dodging probation, Hackey says Burtin is creating more trouble for himself.

"A judge is going to give you certain rules that you have to live by for a little while. It doesn't take much. It's not like he's asking you to bench press a house or something like that, just go and do what the judge asked you to do for a specified period of time and once it's over and done your life belongs to you again," say Hackey.

Call the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office at (706) 653-4225 if you know the whereabouts of Tyree Burtin.
