LINDALE, TX (KLTV) -

Fire crews responded to the scene of a fire at a hotel near Lindale Saturday afternoon.

The call came in around 1:30 Saturday afternoon from the Best Value Inn off of Highway 69, just south of Lindale near interstate 20.

A woman in a hotel room says she woke up to flames in her room. She quickly got out of the room and called 9-1-1.

Fire crews from Lindale, Red Springs and Dixie responded to the scene and quickly put out the flames. Officials say the room where the fire originated is a total loss, and numerous surrounding rooms did receive smoke damage.

Officials say the fire was started when the resident threw an ash tray into the garbage. Nobody was injured in this fire.
