TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

The Alabama Crimson Tide quickly dispatched the Western Carolina Catamounts in a severely lopsided game on Saturday.

Before hitting halftime, Alabama managed to score on all of their possessions and even got a defensive touchdown. Their first possession saw the Tide make it to the endzone in 6 plays. Eddie Lacy got the score with a 7-yard rush at the 12:06 mark in the 1st quarter. Jeremy Shelley's kick was good.

T.J. Yeldon got the next score to cap off a 4-play drive. The 3-yard rush came with around 8 minutes remaining in the 1st. Shelley again kicked the extra point.

Eddie Lacy returned to the endzone in the following possession. Another 7-yard rush capped off a 3-play drive. Shelley's kick brought the score to 21 at the end of the 1st.

Alabama began the 2nd quarter with an 8-play drive that used T.J. Yeldon to hammer down the field. Quarterback A.J. McCarron finished the drive with a 29-yard pass to Christion Jones for the score. Shelley's kick was good.

Eddie Lacy grabbed his third touchdown of the game on the next Alabama possession. The running back was responsible for most of the rushes that made up the 7-play drive across 71 yards. The score was made with a Lacy rush for 3 yards with 3 minutes remaining in the half.

Alabama appeared to have given the Catamounts a chance at scoring after Alabama's Christion Jones fumbled the punt return into the hands of Western Carolina's Devin Roberts. Another fumble by Catamount Troy Mitchell reversed Alabama's earlier mistake as defender Deion Belue returned the ball 57 yards for another touchdown before halftime. The teams went into the locker room with a score of 42-0.

Alabama's backup QB Blake Sims found the endzone in the 3rd quarter. A 10-play drive for 65 yards ended with Sims rushing 5 yards for the touchdown at the 7:15 mark. Shelley's 7th kick was again good.

The 4th quarter went scoreless for both teams and wrapped up the win for Alabama. Next week, the Tide faces their biggest rival Auburn at home. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
