TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama head coach Nick Saban says he is proud of the way his players played in the game against the Western Carolina Catamounts on Saturday.

The game was an immense blowout with the Catamounts being shut out by the overwhelming Crimson Tide, 49-0.

In his postgame news conference, Saban wasted no time in stating that he was pleased in his players' performance.

"I was pleased with how our guys competed in the game today," said the coach as he started.

Saban, who is known for always looking for things to improve on, said that his team still needs preparation now that they are heading into the big Iron Bowl game against longtime rival Auburn.

"We have to to look at what we got to do to improve," said Saban about the Auburn Tigers. "Everything is out the window when it comes to a rivalry game."

The Iron Bowl kicks off next week at 2:30 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
