An East Texas teenager was killed in a one vehicle accident over the weekend.

According to DPS, 17-year-old Cheyenne Elizabeth Franklin of Elkhart was killed when the Dodge pick-up truck she was a passenger in ran off the road and overturned, shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The accident happened on County Road 2101 about 3 miles north of Highway 294 in Anderson County. Cheyenne was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gary Thomas.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Jeffrey Wilson, also of Elkhart was transported to a Tyler hospital in stable condition.
