PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

A 77-year-old man was hit and killed by a car while crossing the street Nov. 17 in Prescott.

Ronald Anderson was running across the street on Iron Springs Road when a 2004 Chevy Venture van driven by Christopher Bailey, 39, hit him, according to the Prescott Police. Officers said witnesses saw Anderson try to cross the street and never saw the van.

Anderson was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead.

Prescott police do not believe that Bailey was impaired and no citations have been issued at this time. The accident is still under investigation.

If you have any information or if you saw what happened you are asked to call Officer Mark Parker at (928) 777-1997.
