AMERICUS, GA (WTVM) -

Our Birth Place, the Labor & Delivery Unit at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, will celebrate its 25th year anniversary with a special event on Tuesday, November 20 at 5:30 pm at the new facility.

Special guests will be some of the young men and women who were born in the unit at the old hospital (then known as Sumter Regional Hospital) in 1987.

Refreshments will be served in the private dining room.  There will be a guided tour of the new unit, which features private, luxurious suites that allow mothers to experience labor, delivery, recovery and treatment for postpartum (LDRP) in the same room.  These state-of-the-art suites are equipped with advanced fetal monitoring systems and all of the comforts of home, including flat screen television, wireless internet and a sleeper sofa for dad.

If you or your child was born in Our Birth Place in 1987, or if you would like more information about this event please contact call (229) 931-6812.  The public is invited to attend this celebration as well.
