BUCKEYE, AZ (CBS5) -

A man accused of trying to steal a video game from Walmart on last year's Black Friday wants a half-million dollars.

It happened at a Walmart in Buckeye.

Jerald Newman was accused of trying to steal a video game.

He said he was face-planted to the ground by police.

His family filed a complaint, and they're looking for $500,000.

The lawsuit names the town of Buckeye as well as a city police officer.

The Newman family said they're taking legal action because of emotional and psychological trauma.
