    Oftentimes when we think about our military, we think about the soldiers making a huge sacrifice: the deployments, the many moves, the separations and the heartfelt homecomings.

    What we sometimes forget about is their children who have to pick up and go to another school.

There was laughing, plenty of food, and even some dancing as hundreds of people went to the Salvation Army in Shreveport for a full Thanksgiving meal.

Even more people in need were served in the community.

The Salvation Army says they served about 1,200 meals to people in the community Thursday with the food they sent out with their mobile units.

Several volunteers spent their holiday helping the area's homeless enjoy a warm meal. Many of the food items being served are thanks to your generous donations to shelters like the Salvation Army.

    11:00 a.m.
