HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Holiday shoppers started an extra day early this year. People lined up at the Kmart on North Memorial Parkway as early as 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

The store, with a line wrapped around the building with about 150 people, opened at 6 a.m. on Thursday.

Shoppers were hoping to snag a few deals before the Black Friday shopping madness.

Many stores throughout North Alabama are opening on Thanksgiving day, hoping to catching customers who have a little extra time after the turkey to start their holiday shopping early.
