TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Thousands of Alabama and Auburn fans will be traveling to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl game on Saturday, Nov. 24. It will be the 77th time the teams have faced off since 1893.

Kickoff time is set for 2:30 p.m. and the heaviest traffic is expected between 10 a.m. and noon. To keep traffic moving smoothly, UA has released the following game day travel information:

"Fans coming from Birmingham and points east or south of Birmingham should avoid I-459, and take I-20/50 through downtown Birmingham. There is always a back up at the I-459 and I-20/50 interchange in Bessemer," UA spokesperson Shane Dorrill says.

"Also, fans may run into heavy traffic on I-20/50 South one mile prior to exit 79. This is where the Interstate goes from three lanes to two lanes which sometimes causes merging delays. Fans can avoid the traffic by taking the Highway 216 route (exit 100) or the Highway 11 route (exit 89)," he added.
