COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

It's the last chance to grab Hostess brand snacks in the near future and starting Sunday, they will be 50% off.  Next week, select outlet stores around the country will be offering the last of their inventories to the public at half price.

On Friday, the Victory Drive location in Columbus stood empty with only a couple security guards stationed in the parking lot.

No one knows that the future will hold for Hostess Twinkies, cupcakes, and Dolly Madison treats.  The 82-year-old company is finalizing bankruptcy proceedings following a failed mediation with the union of its employees.

Unless the company finds a buyer who wants to reopen its closed facilities, these snacks may disappear forever.  Even if a buyer is found, there is no guarantee the products will be made with same recipe as the ones on shelves today.

In the meantime, about 400 employees in the Columbus area are without work.
