ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia senior free safety Bacarri Rambo has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week following the Bulldogs' 42-10 rout of Georgia Tech, according to a league announcement on Monday.

Rambo shared the award with South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.  Rambo has also been named the National Defensive Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.

This marks Rambo's first SEC weekly selection as well as the fourth honor of its kind for Georgia this season.  The Bulldogs have had 11 SEC weekly honors this season.

Rambo, a 6-0, 210-pound native of Donalsonville, tied Georgia's mark for career interceptions with his 16th against the Yellow Jackets, which is tied for seventh all-time in SEC history.  He also added eight tackles, two forced fumbles and a 49-yard fumble recovery return.

His first forced fumble came on the Georgia 1-yard line as Georgia Tech had driven 83 yards down the field and was attempting to tie the game at 7-all.  Rambo ran 49 yards with the ball to the 50-yard line and set up the Bulldogs' second touchdown.

On his interception, Rambo returned the ball 27 yards and now stands third in the school record books with 293 interception return yards (the school record is 315 by Jake Scott on 16 picks).

The No. 3 Bulldogs (11-1, 7-1 SEC) takes on No. 2 Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) in the SEC Championship Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. ET.
