Good news for Alabama students looking for financial assistance to continue their education.

The Alabama State Treasurer has announced a new scholarship program College Counts to help Alabama students who make an ACT score of 26 or below. Up to $600,000 is expected to go towards scholarships in the first year.

A one-time award of $4,000 will go to students enrolling in a four year college and  $2,000 for students enrolling in a two year college.

Eligible students may start applying January second until March 7.
