Columbus Symphony Orchestra announces 4th annual Toast of the Town

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is proud to announce their fourth annual Toast of the Town: A symphony of flavors on Friday, March 15, 2013, 7 p.m., at RiverMill Event Centre.

Toast of the Town will include tastings of a variety of fine wines, hand-crafted beers, Southern spirits and foods ranging from gourmet signature dishes to decadent chocolates, all to benefit the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

New this year for attendees is the Garden & Gun Chef's Tent featuring Kevin Gillespie. From 6  to 8 p.m. guests can enjoy food prepared by chef Kevin Gillespie, Bravo's "Top Chef" contestant and "fan favorite" (Season 6), author of the acclaimed cookbook Fire in My Belly:  Real Cooking, and owner of the upcoming Atlanta restaurant Gunshow.

Guests can also enjoy music, wine, and a signature cocktail in the garden at RiverMill Event Centre followed by the Grand Tasting event. A limited number of tickets will be sold to this pre-Grand Tasting event.

We raise our glass to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and look forward to the festivities."

Since 2010, Toast of the Town has been the annual fundraiser for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.  Toast of the Town supports guest artists, young musicians, and educational programs throughout the year.

This event allows the CSO to continue and grow The Orchestra Up Close program for Pre-K through 3rd grade; free and reduced tickets to students and military; as well as music education for adults through Know the Score and Symphony U.

Proceeds from this event enable the CSO to expand its educational programs, making music accessible to all ages and economic groups.

Toast of the Town will feature vintners from around the world as well as regional chefs, restaurants and suppliers.  A wide variety of wines will be available for purchase through a silent wine auction.  This silent auction will also include trips and treasures related to food and wine.

Tickets are $85 per person for the Grand Tasting and $150 per person for the Garden & Gun Chef's Tent featuring Kevin Gillespie.  Tickets may be purchased by visiting or by calling 706-256-3640.
