VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Both Valdosta St. basketball teams got back to winning after losses in their previous games by sweeping Fort Valley St. in basketball action on the VSU Complex Tuesday night.

The Blazers' men overcame a 12 point halftime deficit to knock off the Fort Valley 83-72.  VSU was coming off its first loss of the season to North Alabama this past weekend and was lead by a strong half performance from Patrick Diop who had 20 pts and 4 assists in the game.  James Anacreon had a game high 22 points as the Blazers improved to 7-1.  The Wildcats will get another shot at VSU on Tuesday at Fort Valley.

Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers were pushed to overtime by the Lady Wildcats but managed a 56-51 victory.  Brittney Nelson poured in a game high 24 points on 6-8 from behind the arc.  Kourtnee Williams added 11 points.  The win snaps a two game losing streak for the Lady Blazers who improved to 5-2 on the year.  VSU will host Eckerd on December 14 at The Complex.
