LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

LaGrange police told News Leader 9 two workers were injured at Sewon America, Inc. in LaGrange, GA. It happened just before 10:00 a.m. Friday.

Police say the workers were in a basket lift doing maintenance work when a crane hit the lift. Officials say this caused the lift to turn over with the workers inside the basket.

Both workers were harnessed in, but due to their injuries, one was taken by helicopter to the Columbus Medical Center and the other was flown to Atlanta Medical Center.

Officials are not releasing the workers' names at this time, but officials say one worker was from Alabama and the other was from the Atlanta area.

Sewon is the largest supplier to Georgia's Kia Motors Automotive assembly plant in West Point, GA. The company makes stamped chassis, body components and decorative trim pieces.

It also supplies Hyundai Corp. manufacturing plant in Alabama. The Korean-based firm opened its facility in 2008.
