COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A new nursing center in Columbus officially broke ground Thursday.
The 168,000 square foot Muscogee Manor will be located off of Williams and Whitesville Road.
More than 100 community leaders including Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson attended the groundbreaking.
Muscogee Manor President Frank Morast says the 200-bed facility will create a home-like neighborhood environment for residents where quality of life is just as important as quality of care.
Each unit of the $27 million project will feature a living room, dining room kitchen space and resident bathrooms.
