COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two bridges in Columbus will receive some much-needed help.

The Brown Avenue Bridges on the southwest side of Columbus is one of 14 projects across the state funded by $43 million in transportation funds.

The two bridges will be replaced as a part of the multi-million dollar construction project.

Department of Transportation officials say it's part of an effort to improve the safety and functionality of bridges in the state.
