TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

A valley company is getting some big recognition that puts them among the best in the country for creating jobs.

Safety Services Company landed the honor in Inc. Magazine as part of the publication's inaugural ranking of Inc.'s Hire Power Awards that recognizes private businesses generating the most jobs in the past three years.

"It's cool. It's cool. It's a good little job," said Eric Cotton as he laughed while working at the Tempe company Friday. "I'm working on a health and safety environment manual, putting it together."

Cottons said he measures success by taking advantage of every opportunity and appreciates having a job in these hard economic times.

"We grew through one of the worst recessions in the history of the country," said the CEO and President of the company Peter Schrady. "In the past year we've grown revenues from about $15 million to $22 million a growth rate of about 55 percent."

Schrady said business has really taken off and the proof is in the numbers from their recruiting manager.

"In the last seven months have hired on 238 employees," said Melissa Locklar.

The company started as a small one man call center in Yuma ten years ago and has expanded to the Valley and now employs nearly three hundred people in Tempe.

"This is our new hire class," said Locklar as she showed CBS 5 around the building.

That recent growth earned the company recognition from Inc.Magazine as one of the country's largest creators of jobs. They deal in making safety compliance training materials and they provide customer service to small businesses for safety compliance in an hands-on environment.

Through the building you can see employees putting papers into binders, feeding the printers and making calls. One of their distinctions is focusing on a specific service for small businesses but they measure success in customer service and in valuing every employee.

"We're very fortunate to be able to do that and provide those types of numbers to the citizens of Arizona," said Schrady.

Safety Services Company has also been recognized my Inc. Magazine for the past five years as one of the nation's fastest growing companies.
