BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Detectives arrested a man they believe to be responsible for the death of a Baton Rouge woman.

Mark Turner, 48, was arrested for the stabbing death of 30-year-old Shalonda Green. According to police, the stabbing stemmed from an argument between Turner and Green.

The stabbing happened around 1 a.m. at Green's home in the 2700 block of Jackson Avenue.

When officers got to the scene, they saw Turner trying to run from the scene. Officers quickly apprehended Turner and found he was covered in blood and had cuts on his hands, arms and abdomen.

According to police, Turner and Green are in a relationship and have a long documented history of domestic violence.

Turner was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with second degree murder.
