New chicken restaurants to open soon in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

It's a well-known brand throughout most parts of the south, but it's never been in Columbus until now.

Bojangles Chicken and Biscuits is opening up a new location in the Parkway Centre shopping mall anchored by Publix on Schomburg Road.

Wednesday, developers were readying the foundation and installing concrete curbs.  They estimate the restaurant will open by March, directly across the street from Zaxby's.

Bojangles is not the only new chain we'll see opening soon.  Jordan Hart Commercial Services is leasing the space at Parkway Centre and they have also brought Jim Bob's Chicken Fingers to Whittlesey Boulevard.  That restaurant is scheduled to open in February.  Wing Stop on Weems Road also had a recent grand opening.

A company spokesperson from Bojangles says they are planning to add three more locations in the Columbus-Phenix City area to open within the year.
