12-12-12: one lucky day for East AL families

(WTVM) -

It has been reported that at least two children in the nation were born at 12:12 a.m. and another at 12:12 this afternoon, giving them all one very special birthday.

Ryker Douglass Mask, who was supposed to arrive Christmas eve, had his own plans.

Ryker was born today at 9:25 a.m. at the East Alabama Medical Center to have a once-in-a-century birthday.

"I had an aunt who actually told me Sunday she felt like he was going to come on Wednesday, 12-12-12, so it's kind of interesting that it happened," explained Ryker's mother, Julie Mask.

12-12-12 brought early Christmas presents six families at the East Alabama Medical center and five at the Medical Center in Columbus.

All superstitions aside, the Masks are grateful that their little boy arrived healthy and early, so that they will be able to enjoy the holidays at home.

"We're excited to have Ryker. We're glad he is finally here and that we are going to be able to be home for Christmas," said Mask.

The Mask's 22-month-old daughter, Rory, is one proud older sister that didn't care what date he arrived, just that he was finally here.

"She loved to rub on my belly and kiss and talk about Bubba," explained Mask, "So she was super excited this morning when she go to see him."

No doubt, the Masks as well as other families all over the nation will never forget this triple digit date
