Columbus TSYS building evacuated due to gas leak

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The TSYS building has been evacuated after workers struck a gas line near the building. The leak was discovered a little after 11:00 a.m.

Fire Marshall Chief Ricky Shores says fire crews are on the scene and Atmos Energy is assisting.  

Crews have already turned off the gas to the building and they are working on fixing the broken pipe.

The building is located on 10th Street near the Columbus Police Department.
