Two teens dead following Russell Co. car crash

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Russell County coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. has confirmed two teens were killed Sunday in Russell County following a single car crash.

Sumbry pronounced them dead at the scene around 6:30 p.m.

The accident happened at Gulatt Road near Crawford when the jeep rolled over and hit a tree.

The coroner's office says speed played a role in the accident.

The driver was identified as 18 year old Khadajah Core of Opelika.  The passenger was 13-year-old Jaquon Trimele of Alexander City.

Another passenger was rushed to the medical center and survived.
