COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
Sara London's home in south Columbus was ravaged by fire.

Everything her family owned, including clothes, appliances, and even Christmas presents for her five daughters, was all reduced to ashes. It happened on Munson Drive Wednesday night.

"The walls were scorched the couch all you seen was the wood board."

"We were already not doing as well as I would have liked to have done and the little bit that we did have, for it to all be lost in the fire it hurt a lot."

Thankfully no one was home during the time of the fire. Columbus Fire Marshall Chief, Ricky Shores says that the cause of the fire is being investigated. Meantime London says she holds her daughters close during this difficult time.

"Even though we are in the situation we are in be thankful because we could have been in that fire we could have been burned alive in that fire.

London and her daughters who all range from age two months to 11 years old are looking to put this unfortunate incident behind them. Though it seems as if their Christmas spirit and joy are gone Sara London says it renews her spirit bringing her family even closer together.

"I really do believe that for every bad situation there is something good waiting to happen."

If you would like to help the London family you can do so by sending an email to cmccloud@wtvm.com
