Stores open for last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve

(WTVM) -

If you are stressing out because Christmas is tomorrow and you still don't have that special gift for someone on your Christmas list, don't worry!

Many stores will be open today and are slashing prices.

They include Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Toys "R" Us, but you may have to fight the crowds.

We spoke with local shopper Andrew Grice of Fort Benning, who usually finishes his Christmas shopping in October but got stuck last-minute shopping this year due to a surprise visitor.

He explains to us why it is much easier to shop early.

"By the time you wait to the last minute everything is picked over, a lot of stuff that the people they wanted to get for are already gone," said Grice. "You don't have the opportunity to get those things so it's probably in most people's better interests to start shopping early."

If you are still stuck shopping at the last minute, here are some stores that are open Christmas Eve:

Toys "R" Us will be open until 10 p.m. They are also having a Cyber Sale online today with some items up to 60% off.

Target is open until 9 p.m. Christmas Eve, and will have from 5% to 50% off on select items throughout the store.

Wal-Mart will be open until 6 p.m. If you ordered something online for in-store pick-up, it must be picked up by closing time today.  For a list of last minute gift ideas and sales they will be having you can visit their website in the link.

Best Buy is calling themselves "Your Procrastination Destination," and you can pick up last-minute Christmas presents there until 5 p.m.

Peachtree Mall will be open until 6 p.m.

Kmart will be open until 10 p.m. and is also having free store pick-up today.  To see their deals and savings you can visit their website in the link.

And for your extremely last minute shoppers, some gas stations and pharmacies will be open on Christmas.  Most will have small stocking stuffers and gifts.
